Founded in 1780 in Paris by Marie-Etienne Nitot, Chaumet stands as one of the world’s most prestigious jewellers and a byword for Parisian elegance. Appointed as Napoleon’s official jeweller, Chaumet created a vast collection of exquisite regalia for the French emperor and his two wives, Josephine and Marie-Louise, among them Napoleon’s consular sword and a number of graceful tiaras and jewellery pieces. The Chaumet tiara in particular has since become a symbol of power and glamour as well as a quintessential adornment worn by European, Russian and Indian royalty at special occasions. Today, Chaumet jewellery has become a common sight at red carpet events on celebrities around the world.
